I will use it for early duck season and upland birds.I have the SPR310 not sporting. I love it, The problem is because it is field grade, the forend cracked from using it for trap. When I asked the dealer that I bought it from about the sporting one, he said they are the same except the sporting is 29.5" and ported.I am going to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on with a Remington SPR-310 or a Baikal IZH-27 in the next few days. Are the 2 guns the exact same? Up here the Remington is $35 more than the comparable Baikal (12 *****, 26" barrels, nickel receiver). Thanks. I have searched on the internet and here in the forum and found no definitive answer.The Remington SPR 310 is great for hunting birds, trap and skeet. It has a walnut stock and fore-end, with a ventilated barrel rib. Upper barrel is modified; lower barrel is improved cylinder.
