That makes sense... the ignition systems on Recons are AC-CDI, so the primary voltage is grounded to shut the ignition off. Check the ignition switch and kill switch for proper operation per the manual in the switches section. When you turn on the key under normal circumstances you should hear 1. the fuel pump hum for a few seconds, 2. the IACV will buzz and 3. there should be a click from one of the relays under the seat.Posted February 7, 2010. there are 3 basic principles for diognostic. spark/fue/compression. you have ther first 2 now check compression and leak down. that will tell you if the piston is too small for cylinder/need boring. or valve train has a problem. the reading can also signify timing issues.Ensure the Fuel Valve is Set to "On". For motorcycles with fuel valves (read: non-fuel injected models), having the setting in the wrong place can keep your bike from starting up. Check around in the area where you were working. By the way, you can still start your machine (without the neutral light being on) by holding in the right front brake while you are pressing the START button.
