Had Vemeer 5400 that I bought used. Tried everything that Vermeer suggested to make it start a bale. Had a chance to sell it for $8500 and bought a 5410 with net for $10500. The 5410 is a good baler. I have a 5400 that has this problem, the spiral roller rolls the hay out on top of the wind gate and is then pulled back in until the bale is a bigger diameter then no problem. From my experience if they start a bale the only thing to stop them from turning is the slip clutch, chain breaks, gearbox goes down or something else mechanical from what I have seen.
