This small action helps to relieve the pressure on the lock. 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor 1.8L 5-spd (722.6 I recently purchased a new smart key for my 06' C230 Sport. When rec'd and tested by the dealer, the key worked fine (doors lock/unlock and trunk unlocked). The next day the key worked intermittently (for the most part didn't work). I returned to the dealer the following day and they replaced the battery, but the key still didn't work.I bought the new battery and got it installed. The battery is strong and everything electronically works. The key will engage and the car will attempt to start but wont. It cranks but never catches/starts.
